UPDATE: after about 12 hours since I posted this, I got 6.321 visitors just from stumbleupon $15.42 in adsense and 10.679 page views by unique members these statistis are ONLY for Stumble Upon . I will revel graphs tomorrow at around 10am CST 11 EST and my time 5am Hawaii time :) .

This is something I wanted to test couple days ago but I really did not have time to think how am I going to do it. What I would like to do today is to see how much traffic could I get in 1 day from stumbleupon. My first day at SU that was my record of 800+ something viewers, and since then about 100-200 unique visitors from SU.

What will you gain from it ?

Well you can test your blog how many visitors you are going to get from stubleupon, we all can see if thumbs up really increases SU page view. And whoever comments on this post, I will be more then glad to stumbleupon back!

StumbleUpon members to start this I would like you to thumbs up this post, and come back tomorrow for more results. Click on any of the links in case you do not have stumbleupon bar.

After you stumble this post please visit home page I am sure there will be another post that will catch your attention !

Horaayy..there are 60 comment(s) for me so far ;)

Guess who’s the first to comment?

Good luck with the experiment! I’ll stumble soon…

Just found this site via SU. I use it quite frequently to discover new pages. I’ll take a bit to read over your blog while I am here, and I have bookmarked it.

Interesting. I use SU and often wonder whether the ratings affect anything at all–especially because some sites seem to have no ratings at all, despite being popular sites which hundreds of Stumblers must have seen.

Stumble stumble stumble…

thDARKisRISING wrote on June 7, 2007 - 7:17 pm

I conducted a 2 week stumbleupon experiment at the beginning of May. I put up 150 bucks and asked for 400 hits a day. What I got was the full ride on monday, something less on tuesday, and then downward weds and thursday and friday. Back the following monday, new campaign…same trend. After looking at my blog stats, I saw that stumbleupon accentuated a traffic pattern I had failed to see before.

I run a business blog in a niche. Supply Chain and Logistics. So it follows that people coming back to work after a weekend, want to see “whats going on” in the business. So I get a big monday spike. What that tells me is that I better have real good content on those days.

My blog has also been picked up by a national industry magazine and my content now goes in their daily news blitz across the industry. If the trending looks the same at that level, it really guides content.

I’ve often assumed that the more thumbs up a page received meant a page would be stumbled upon at a higher rate. It will be interesting to see your results.

Thumbs up!

randumbum wrote on June 7, 2007 - 8:18 pm

wow – I just stumbled on this after I created a project similar to this on my blog! crazy isnt it…

Ianternet wrote on June 7, 2007 - 8:20 pm

Well, I thumbed you way up! Add me as your friend on stumble upon! I am curious to see the results. I myself have never been dugg or anything, but stumble upon consistently gives me great traffic. Although, for some reason, it seems like stumblers don’t often click on adds. No biggie, though. I would rather have the readers.

J David wrote on June 7, 2007 - 8:21 pm

Great idea for a post. I have been interested as to the effect of the thumbs up on StumbleUpon. Most of the hits on my site come via StumbleUpon. I knew the thumbs up would have a big effect, but it is amazing the number of hits you are generating.

Is there anything similar to Stumble Upon wrote on June 14, 2007 - 12:36 pm

Like any other network, stumble traffic depends on what kind of site you’re running. If your site connects well with a group of stumblers, you can do pretty well.
