Well donations are ok as long as they go toward something that is really usefull, but let say for example if i make 100.000 a year and I still want donations for my self isn't that little bit rude to ask? I took a quick look, I think you should work on different theme, more green and make it more garden website feel. Also add some keywords improves your google adsense. Because of the popularity of plugins, you have to test each theme for compatibility with each other and the theme you are using! :) However, I wonder if it makes sense to not ask for donations.
