I use to do a lot of keyword research before and write about, but that was before I started helping other bloggers.

It is easy to earn a lot of traffic, you just need to be on top from everyone , some of the keywords are more like large amount of traffic for short time of period.

You might end up on google no.2-5 just for few days and get good amount of traffic, later on once everybody starts writing about top keywords you end up on page 10. So keep in mind top keywords aren’t your solution for solid traffic.
