I was at the college today and wrote down an idea about my new post that you are reading just now. I couldn’t wait to get home and start writing about it.
First I did some research on blog software but I would like to give you some review.
B2evolution
Nice software some bloggers say it’s better then wordpress because your guests and other people can create multiple blogs while wordpress you have to share one blog. This is what I pulled from b2evolution for advanced bloggers:
- Advanced browsing (paged, calendar, categories, search…)
- Extended & multipaged posts
- Image/file upload & management
- Multiple and sub-categorie
- Draft and quick publishing
- RSS & Atom feeds
- Automatic pinging of blog directories
- Supports lots of Plugins and Themes
Simple Blog
The name says it all, it is simple to install simple to navigate yet administrate. People love it because it is just so simple! Has not many templates and plugins like wordpress or b2evolution yet it is something you can use if you are beginner in blog sphere .
DocClear
Looks a lot like wordpress but what threw me off is their home page!
Everything is in French language, and even if you click on the button ” I don’t speak French” you only get to downloads page. This looks like new to me and I would not recommend it to people that don’t like to have options like themes or plugins.
EggBlog
A lot similar to wordpress and b2evolution yet has more options then SimpleBlog or DotClear haven’t found many plugins as well as themes. Here are some of the functions they represent on the website:
- download themes to change the look of your site
- download plug-ins to add further features and functionability to your site
- easy administration to add, edit, disable and delete articles and user posts
- pre-installed with one administration account with the option to add more
- guest comments on blog articles
- unlimited photo albums
- unimited forum topics and posts
- automatic monthly archiving of all articles
- search engine to search all articles
- valid HTML 1.1, valid CSS 1.0 and WAI friendly
- seperate valid XML RSS 1.0 feeds for both articles and form topics
Wordpress
Totally cool blog software, there is not one thing that you can’t do with this software, website hosting that provide fantastico usualy have automatic updates so you don’t have to do it manually. Downloading plugins is simple as well as the installation. Upload/Activate and you are ready to go. What I most like by this software is the easy coding in php, even people that don’t understand php can do some small coding.
Wordpress is one of the leading blog software on the internet, because of the easy use, lots of options and tons of how to tutorials.
