I haven’t seen much visitors lately, from StumbleUpon.

So I had an idea to create this StumbleUpon Experiment.

What Is SU Experiment About?

I would like to see if every reader from SU thumbs up this post, would I gain more traffic from SU?

How long will readers stay on my blog. Are they going to be interested in other parts of the blog ? Is the traffic I am getting from SU really just random visitors or targeted visitors.

How Long Will This Experiment Last?

I think one day or less is enough for me to check on statistics, and by tomorrow I could give answers.

Your taks stumblers is to stumble this post only with thumbs up, and visit me tomorrow for results. All comments that you post, I will follow them back so don’t forget to leave url to your blog/website if you have one.

RESULTS ARE IN:

Pageviews:16.349

Unique Users:11.050

THESE ARE THE RESULTS FOR 24 HOUR PERIOD:

stumbleupon experiment

First, I want to thank all the readers and stumblers for thumbs up and down as well. Experiment was well worth it.

This shows that, if you have a good article and stumblers seem to like it you could receive 15.000 page views just on that one article and even more.

Some of you wrote that I ran this experiment to make money out of the all the traffic, well I turned off adsense except that there ware some 3c outstanding and I don’t know how that happened.

This was pure fun for many readers and me as well. I might attempt to do another experiment maybe in 2008. Experiment was also created so I can donate donate $150 to StumbleU for more advertising.

Thank you everybody, and if you need any other information please let me know.

StumbleUpon traffic isn’t “natural”. Users are blindly directed to your site and as a result, they have to be immediately interested in what you’re saying.

As a result, your content will significantly effect the traffic. I suspect that a real post with a catchy title, clear punchy content with images and points aligned in an F pattern, then you’ll have more success with residual traffic and linkouts.

Gave it a thumbs down. We have enough link (stumble) whoring as it is. No need to give more proof that you can cheat the system and get people to look at an otherwise worthless site/blog.

If you want stumbles, get legitimate content that people care about. Getting people to stumble-whore your site will just get more people upset with you.

Sony seems to believe that any publicity is good publicity, even if it is people who hate them. Don’t be like Sony.

I’ve got your answer. First of all, stumble traffic sucks, period. Second, I stumbled your blog, and while I’m commenting, I doubt I’ll return.

People who stumble, like myself, are like ADD ridden hamsters on crack. F*** clicking an ad, or reading another post, I want to see some pictures of a kid petting a sea lion or some shit.

And not only that, but your comments are no-follow. As a webmaster, why the hell should I waste my time? (You tell me).

Nice blog though. Almost as nice as the twenty gazillion other interesting blogs on the net that I don’t have time for.

You want traffic? Stumble traffic is good for hits. Natural traffic is good for revenue.

Peace,

Scott

1. My email is filled with comments on this post, so this looks like a big success!

2. Html code was sent to you in email when you subscribed to http://www.linkylove.net/addyourlink/

It counts your visitors so you can compare yourself with the rest of us (as all counters count different). Would have been great to see what spike you got today!

If you don’t have the code, please resubmit to the directory and if you use yahoo email, please check your bulk folder afterwards as well.

Example of the code is on left top of my side, if you change my name with yours, it could work as well.
