So you got new blog and probably asking your self, what would be fastest and good way to establish lots of links without paying other services or advertising.
Here is the trick how to do:
Go to google and type in:
- “you comment I follow” with brackets and without it.
Try also different wording like comment I follow or follow comments.
Lets assume you found many blogs that have that plugin called “You Comment I Follow”.
Now is your turn to leave comment on every blog you found, and make sure that blog has at least 20-50% similar topics and content, your blog is about.
What should I write in Comments section?
This is more up to you, my suggestion is to leave at least 10-20 words comment, make sure it’s positive.
Should I leave url of my blog in comments?
Not really, if you write something like” Hello there, I write about similar stuff like you are. Check out my Blog” something like that is fine. But make sure it does not look like spam.
Even if you don’t leave url in comment you will still get link back by adding Name, Email, Blog Url before you even write the comment.
Don’t you feel guilty doing that?
I would not, people that chose to activate follow plugin for wordpress, probably want more comments on their blog. Also you are doing them a favor by writing your opinion about the given post, in return you get link back.
How many blogs should I visit?
This is up to you and your time, there is probably over 2.000 blogs that has DoFollow on comments, so if you have want all 2.000 blogs to link to you go ahead do so, but as I wrote above “MAKE SURE LINKS ARE RELATED TO YOUR BLOG”.
Links to your blog, will increase your PR(Google Page Rank) as well as technorati and alexa rating.
How come (BONTB -Blog Or Not To Blog) has nofollow in comments?
Simple answer is, I don’t want to get “spammed” as I am already enough, I don’t want ether linking to blogs that are not related to bontb. Also, why would I link for free when, I can get paid by text-link-ads at least $80 a month?
Also once you comment on other blogs, watch your blog traffic growing on daily basis, comments you left some of them might return twice the favor: one – link to your blog two- comment back.
My blog is more then 1 year old should I do this as well?
If you don’t have many links let say for example 10 only, yes you should do that. But if your blog has let say 500 blogs linking to you, then you should be fine, extra 100 links might help your page rank but not much.

Great tips. The only trouble is, I would struggle to comment on blogs that i really didn’t enjoy. And, I couldn’t go round leaving the two word “great post” comments that some people leave.

Considering i have only just started blogging really, i have been in the IT industry for a long time.
Noting your Page rank is 0 how can you justify posting comments about raising page ranks.

@Mellowmuppet: I was in same situation like you about 2 years ago, an IT guy with many experience but started blogging kind of at the time.
See my friend, google page rank is 0 because this blog was opened when google finished with page ranks. Google only does page ranking every 3-6 months that means 4-2 times a year, and last time I know their page rank was done end of February. According to my link from external source my page rank is PR5 , i am waiting any moment to get page ranked.
What does page rank mean anyways to others? There are sites with page rank 9 but don’t have anything useful for me or many others, but they provide services like exchange links and thats where the page rank 9 comes from. Or webdesigners, they create some good template for wordpress and as many people download that template the more links he/she is going to get, is that fair ?
As i wrote above page rank search should be done soon, many people thought September is the time, but as it looks like not. JohnChow that had PR7 is now PR5 they did change that does that make him any less popular? Nope

no page rank doesnt make you elss popular, a lot of the bloggin is about community from what i understand, i have yet to know anyone lol. maybe we could exchange blog links ill put you in the side bar of mine.
I tend to be very interested in aviation technology and space so youll find post about that most of the time.

Ill run your site through a proper backlink checker tommorow aswell if you like. and i dont mean clicking next to the pagerank icon on the googletoolbar and selected, this is a proper backlink checker created with php using a spider that is very close in standards as googles. Obviously the technology that google uses for its spider is kept quite well hidden!!

As I wrote above google still didnt do the PR check well at least not on mine. When I look at the Webmasters Tools Middle PR line is full
but then at the bottom it say’s “Page Rank not assigned yet 
”. I check seo chat and webmasters point and per couple of discussions they said that google is slow this year

I thought the rel=nofollow idea developed by Google could have the death or just weakening of the PageRank measure — but this hasn’t occurred yet.
Comments onother blogs, I told you its very borring, very very borring. First find do follow blogs, then find post related to our website. It’s quites borring for me..i don’t know about you guys.
