I was looking though my traffic today, who is linking to me, and also how many blogs bring me traffic.
So how did I get traffic?
I notice that most bloggers like problogger, shoemoney, johnchow, johntp, guykawasaki and others post early in the morning for most of the time.
I wait till one of them post something and then I comment if I have my opinion off caurse. If you get a chance to be first comentator on popular blogs, thats great and you get better chances to get more traffic then blog comment #89
Make sure your comment name is something unique or blog name, don’t use your real name because many people will just ignore you and your post.
Was it attentional or not?
Sometimes yes sometimes not. I really wake up early in the morning and read all the blogs I like. And for most part I do get to post either first or first ten.
Top Comentators
This is good way to get some free links too, I usually don’t post just to stay on top comentators, but I have seen people do that. They post over 30 comments and if you follow those comments all they have for opinion is “Great Post”, “Thanks for Tip” , “Wow I didn’t know that, thanks” etc.
To tell you the truth I hate that.
If you are going to comment then at least comment because you want to, and not because you want to be on top ten list of commentators.
I think it’s rude don’t you think? If you really want to be top comentator make sure you find some posts that you really like and have opinion about it. This way blogger that manages top ten commentators will not ban you.
How much traffic will you get?
This depends on blog where you are commenting, as well as what position your comment is at. .
Looking statistics from:
Problogger, I got one day over 75 clicks
Shoemoney I got 33 hits.
DoshDosh my favorite blog that does not post every day but I love Maki’s theories of blogging, and you will see most of my comments there. At one point I received over 150 clicks but that was because he included my link in post.
Technology blog gizmodo 13 clicks, my comment was number 16th.
So to get some extra link and traffic look for your favorite blogs, ask bloggers what time most likely they post.
All clicks above I got from other bloggers, are only 1 day traffic.

Horaayy..there are 7 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Great Post. Thanks for Tip and Wow I didn’t know that.
I just started blogging so your site is quite useful. I haven’t promoted my site much.
I don’t like people given comments like ‘good post’, ‘I agree’, etc. Fortunately most of those comments end up in my askismet spam folder and if not I simply do not approve them.
I think that if you want to comment on someone’s blog you should add something to the conversation and not just comment for the sake of being in the top spot of the Top Commentators.
You’ve had a fair few hits from the big blogs with your comments. I haven’t really paid any attention to that sort of traffic. Maybe I should
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love your links at the end of your post. Is that a Word Press Plug in? Do you have a subscribe email sign up?
@Taige: Thank you, well now you know I will be writing more about the blog traffic for next following days.
@Sandra: I agree with you totally. Check your monthly statements, and see what url’s from bloggers linked to you and why.
@Robin Sampson: Sorry I don’t have that, I thought about adding that but you ware the first to ask. Now if you look at the bottom of each comment box, there is button “notify me on follow up via email” you can check which posts you would like to get emailed though. To unsubscribe all you have to do is click on unsubscribe link in your email.
I will probably set email subscribtion in the near future so people have more choices.
What I am most afraid of is, haters which subscribe to my blog via email and then mark it as spam, if there is many of such spam attacks my email could be marked as spam or abuse as well. I have seen many bloggers having problems proving that they are not email spammers.
Those are some really great stats for commenting!
Yeah, I’m quite impressed with the stats for commenting. That’s a really good strategy…I’ll have to try it!
@Robin: Email subscription has been added
