This is guest post from MG he owns MgsBlog. Very knowledgeable friend of mine about SEO and Blog Monetization.

This questions asks every new and older blogger, who is not satisfied with his PR. This year we saw critics all over the Internet about all blogger who complaint about the last Google PR update. Many good blogs like JohnChow lost his PR. So what’s the formula for better PR? How many backlinks you need for better PR?

The most powerful formula for better PR are Backlinks. Increasing the number of Backlinks to a site is a very important factor in developing your website, the higher PR Backlinks your site has, higher will your PR be. How to get backlinks?

  • try to create unique and quality content in your site, and your site is going to be the most targeted from Google
  • think what is the best content for you on other sites, and write that on yours
  • make people laugh, so they will be happy to visit you again
  • read news daily and write articles on them, every one wants to know what is going on
  • fill your site in directories and blog directories
  • when visitors will see that your blog has potential, they will link you, that’s how you will get Backlinks

This are suggestions that you do in naturally way, but the highest PR comes from advertising on high PR sites.

You did all the steps that takes to raise your PR? Try to think how many Backlinks you got, or check them with Analytics, and see what PR your site will have in next Google PR update in this chart:

Those look like the count are for sites instead of individual page link. Am I correct?

How about the PR0 links? The chart is missing the startup.

Do little math, if you need for PR1 three PR2 links, then you need for PR1 three PR1 links.. And PR0 links around 3x PR1 links om all lines

I share same question with Binh, what about startup? Can you suggest most suitable way to track PR of the site?

@Th0rest: I will let MG answer that question but if you ask me:

Go to google type in

link:yourblogpage.com

and see how many links are going to your page, also technorati is not bad as well to track down who is linking to you

http://www.technorati.com/blogs/yourblogpage.com

then you can see how many people are linking to you and see their PRs

I don’t think that chart is accurate at all. Google considers a wide range of factors… not just the PR of the other sites. Relevancy is what they are searching for. With that said, my PR is O… and I have dozens of backlinks. I don;t care much for their algorithm.

Two factors must be considered:
1-link quality(relevancy)
2-no. of backlinks

I taught that PR is determined by the number of visitors that visit your site. If you have 10000 backlinks without visitors, your PR will still be low.

Do you guys agree with me

PR is not determined by visitors rate. It’s only of backlinks. Only alexa and technorati are determined by number of visitors.

Hey, that’s a nice chart you got there, I hadn’t even seen any like that before.
Though, where is it from? Unless it’s Google’s insider provided, that is not too accurate….

please give the exact number of pr0 links to get pr1. I have a new site 15 days old. How long it will take to get pr ratings. it shows na. I think after update it will show atleast 0. Am i right

It’s interesting how many people are asking for the PR0 counts.

According to the chart I can guess that you need 81 PR0 links to become PR1. Why? Because you can see that
81 PR1 links -> 1 PR2
81 PR2 links -> 1 PR3
81 PR3 links -> 1 PR4

and so on.

So if you want PR0, try to get 15 PR0 links. In otherwords, as soon as you get some links from other sites, especially other social media sites, you get at least PR0.

Rightly quoted MG.Quantity of the links is not important . Those coming from a high PR page will be the one that will account for adding to your PR . Great chart that you have attached to assist others to understand the importance of quality back links.

Thanks for the chart. I think its really helpful. Buidling PR is one of the most important parts of blogging or for any new website to be successful for that matter. While doing some research on this subject I came across a couple of websites which I would like to share here. The most useful one I found was MyPRGenie (http://www.myprgenie.com/technology/). It helps build PR and does all the marketing for you. I think its brilliant. everyone should give it a try. thanks for reading.

Thanks for the chart. Although I dont know how accurate it is as there are many factors that go into PR. I dont think Google’s algorithm is that black and white.
