Lately I have been reading blogs and websites that contained information about branding – marketing blogs. If you are serious blogger and want to be appreciated for all content you provide to other people , marketing or branding your blog is the way to go.

Ways to do that….

Some bloggers will start off with social networking or advertising etc but in my opinion design and your content is no.1 when branding your blog.

What is actually making brand out of your self or blog?

When you see somewhere on tv or street two arches together doesn’t that remind you of McDonalds? When you go to some website and see big red P with circle doesn’t that remind you of Darren Rowse from Problogger ? Now that’s called branding things you see and reminds you of something which is branded.

So to start branding your blog think first are you going to brand your self like Paris Hilton does? Or your Blog?

1. Start with your theme…your theme should be more unique then from anyone. Your custom heather logo or theme that you can not find on 50 different blogs.
2. When you write pay more attention to “how would i read this post as 3rd person”
3. Do some SEO research make your theme content and titles feel like googles best friend
4. Now socialize! go to places like MyBlogLog, Technorati, BlogCatalog, MySpace, Facebook, Mixx and other websites where you can communicate with the rest of the world.
5. Answer every comment you get, tell your commentators that there is similar post, provide them links …
6. Advertise your blog but don’t stat with adsense, how about some 125×125 banners on blogs that are related to yours?
7. Leave trackbacks to related posts from other blogs. If your blog is about technology for example traceback to techcrunch, gizmodo, lifehacker, mashable (don’t do too much of that, find other blogs)
8. If you have time, some money and there is blog conference meeting going on, attend it and bring some business cards or ware shirt with your logo on it.

You got to know how to market your self and your blog. But then again like my father use to say “Don’t sell water for vodka” in other words don’t make something up that you aren’t or yours.

Many bloggers pay some cute girls online to ware shirts on webcams like ustream.tv justin.tv stickam.com that is cheap and high traffic that might not be related to your blog but still there is always chance of people telling about you or blog to other people.

This is how I see…

Bloggers that have about 200-500 visitors per day should start branding their blogs, less then that should wait and write good content work on readers, traffic and backlinks

Got money? Make sure to set your budget how much are you willing to spend for advertising and big factor also is “where to advertise”

Let other bloggers know about you by simply leaving comments. Be intelligent, be smart, be funny! Those are 3 categories you want to post your comment as, oh about that funny! don’t make jokes, be smart funny ok?

I don’t think it’s time for me to brand this blog , I did advertising, have PR4-PR5, have over 500 visitors per day, but yet I think this blog is more about You . I want to help other people by showing my skills and blog experience. Comments I get are the “thank you” which I appreciate.
