I’m wondering how profitable expired domain names can be for people after a few years especially when they just put a few ads on them. I still go and check occasionally and people still have some of my old domain names which I ditched still registered. The way I look at it, how can my old domain names be more profitable without content years later when they didn’t make anything with content?

So many people buy expired domains and then try and sell links on them only for the PR update to reveal their true usefulness.

This would be a good idea if you are going to use the expired domain for the same site. If it was a blog and you keep it as a blog then it should be fine.

Watching the expiration date is a good way to see if you can get a domain that is already taken…you just have to wait and hope the current owner forgets to renew!
