Not is not a good idea, it is a great idea.

The concept of using these sites to increase your site’s backlinks and popularity is great because not only is it automatic once you add your RSS feed, but it will attract more readers!

This is actually a really good idea.

I know a site which was got to the front page of twiturl (i think) and they got a load of traffic. This was all because one of their blog posts was automatically submitted to twitter.
